IP Address Lookup

Get ISP, ASN, location, organization and reverse DNS for any IPv4 or IPv6 address.

About this tool

The IP Lookup tool reveals who operates an IP address and roughly where it is located. Enter any IPv4 or IPv6 address to see the ISP, autonomous system number (ASN), organization, country, region, city, timezone and reverse DNS hostname.

This is useful for investigating suspicious traffic in server logs, identifying the origin of an email, verifying that your server resolves to the right network, or checking the geolocation that websites are likely to assign to your visitors.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country-level accuracy is usually above 95%, but city-level results are estimates based on registration data and network measurements. An IP can appear in a city hundreds of kilometres from the actual user, especially for mobile carriers and VPNs.

What is an ASN?

An Autonomous System Number identifies a network that controls a block of IP addresses and its own routing policy — for example AS15169 is Google. ASNs tell you which organization is responsible for the traffic from an address.

Can someone find my exact home address from my IP?

No. Public geolocation databases only map IPs to an approximate area and the ISP. Only your ISP can link an IP to a subscriber, and that normally requires a legal request.
